• Portland’s Party in the Streets!

    The Starlight Run began in 1979 and has grown into the area's largest Fun Run. More than 3500 runners are expected to join the 39th annual event on Saturday evening, June 3, 2017.

  • Costume Contest

    The mother of all costume contests takes place at the Starlight Run. All ages participate in the pre-run contest and win prizes like Alaska Airlines tickets for adult category, concert tickets, and more.


    Grab your friends, family, classmates, or co-workers and spend a summer Saturday evening downtown. Wear costumes (or help judge them), dance to the music, thrill to the applause on the route! You’ll make memories for a lifetime.

5k (3.1 miles) Running event only - no walk event available.
Through Downtown Portland and along a portion of the PGE/SOLVStarlight Parade route in front of 250,000 cheering spectators!

Costumes and Craziness

The huge costume contest returns with celebrity judges and musical guests. We'll have categories for youth, adults and groups. Bring your best for great prizes awarded by audience applause! This year's theme: "Brilliant."

Event Updates

Join us this Saturday night, June 3. Register on-line by Friday to save. Prices go up by $5 on event day! Solve traffic problems and carpool or take public transportation to the event. It looks like sunny and in the 70's on Saturday! Plan your costumes accordingly and bring water with you for the course.
